About Lake Placid Lodge, the Only Hotel on Lake Placid
Lake Placid Lodge, the only hotel on Lake Placid, is balanced on the edge of village and forest, a Great Camp for the new century. Its beams are hewn by hand, its rooms filled with art and antiques, with beds carved by local artisans and 50 stone fireplaces laid piece-by-piece by Adirondack masons. It is a personal retreat, as rustic and splendid as the Great Camps from the Gilded Age.
The Lodge's luxurious Lake Placid accommodations include 13 beautifully-appointed guest rooms and 17 cabins that sit at the water's edge and boast wide stone porches, wood-burning fireplaces and breathtaking views of the wilderness through diamond-paned windows. Fresh local ingredients are transformed into unforgettable culinary experiences at Artisans Restaurant and Maggie's Pub, and paired with hand-picked vintages from our Wine Cellar. When it comes to experiencing the legendary beauty of the Adirondacks, you will enjoy a seemingly endless variety of activities from fishing, hiking and boating during the warmer months to cross-country skiing, outdoor ice skating and nightly bonfires by the lake in the wintertime.
As of January 1, 2017, Lake Placid Lodge will be accepting children of all ages. Children under 12 will not be permitted to stay in the Main Lodge rooms and suites, but will now be welcome in the Lakeside Buildings and Private Cabins. Stay tuned for exciting announcements regarding new child programming during vacation weeks and all summer long, special offers for families, and new amenities your kids will love.
In addition to memorable Adirondack vacations, Lake Placid Lodge offers a distinctive setting for meetings, corporate retreats and celebrating milestone occasions. Whether you are seeking a unique location for an upcoming seminar or a timeless backdrop for your wedding day, Lake Placid Lodge offers an irresistible blend of rustic elegance and modern convenience. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lodge, a spectacular hotel in Lake Placid that is perfectly at home in nature's wild domain.
Thanks to our friends at the Wild Center, we now have an up to date shot of Whiteface Mountain from the Whiteface Suite balcony.
